An exciting feature of PM18 will be handsome awards for students and young professionals
» The grand PMAI student award
An all expenses paid trip to an overseas international powder metallurgy conference or exhibition for the best student paper. The destination will be announced during the awards ceremony and will comprise one to & fro economy air ticket, hotel allowance for single room & pocket money of Rs. 5000/- + USD 300/-.
» The PMAI Guiding Hand Award for Faculty
Cash award of Rs. 25,000/- for the principal guide of the winner of the grand PMAI student award.
» The PMAI Award for A Young Promising Professional
Cash prize of Rs. 25,000/- & certificate for the best paper of industrial relevance.
» The Tendolkar Award
Cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- & certificate for the best paper on sintering.
» PMAI Best Product Awards
These awards are given for the best PM products (raw materials, equipment, processes & PM parts) developed in India which is in commercial production.
The product should be in regular manufacture and should be used for an industrial application, the burden of proof is on the applicant.
The products should be displayed wherever possible (compulsory for parts under 50 Kg) along with a write-up not exceeding 1000 words on the features of the product, the manufacturing process and the use it is put to. A high resolution photograph is also required. Prototypes and concept parts are not eligible
An expert committee will evaluate the submissions. The award will be in the form of a citation and a trophy and will be announced at the end of the conference.
The decision of the award committee will be final and cannot be appealed against.
Deadline for submission is 10 Feb, 2018
To participate in the best products (PM parts category) award the following are required:
The applicant (individual or institution) has to;
» Be either a corporate member of PMAI, a conference sponsor or a registered fully paid up conference delegate
» Submit the part before the deadline 10 Feb, 2018.
» Submit a write-up outlining the utility of the part & the challenges faced while developing the part.
» The part should be in commercial production for at least 1 year (documentary proof required).
» Ensure that a technically competent representative is available for an interview with the judging panel which generally happens either on the 2nd or last day of the conference. It is advised that all engineering design data is readily available for the judges to see during the interview.
